Rebuilding Your Childcare Center in a World of Pandemic and Protest

  • June 11, 2020

Shira Leibowitz, CEO of Discovery Village Childcare and Preschool, discusses how to best use this time during the pandemic to rebuild your program, leading with health and safety constraints, but improving quality of learning as well.

Many childcare centers were forced to closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now centers are faced with reopening as they navigate not only the pandemic but other prominent issues. In light of recent protests promoting the Black Lives Matter movement, children and families are questioning what childcare centers are doing to address matters of race and equality along with health and safety.  Shira provides insight into promoting a safe and positive learning environment that addresses these issues and shares concrete examples of what combining safety protocol and quality learning look like.
