This February, we’re reminded to celebrate Black History Month and continue educating ourselves on the past and present issues facing Black people around the world. African-Americans have had a monumental impact on many aspects of society but especially the education industry. Despite the changes and improvements over the years, the industry still has a long way to go and Black people continue to face challenges as owners, directors, and staff members.
In a recent webinar, Kangarootime was joined by three influential Black entrepreneurs in the ECE industry. Audra Wilson-Russell, Dani Christine, and Latrice Crawford came together to discuss their backgrounds, challenges with race in the ECE industry and what keeps them motivated as entrepreneurs.
Audra Wilson-Russell is the owner of WATS CPA, a virtual accounting firm based in Florida that focuses on the childcare industry. Latrice Crawford is a childcare coach and owner of her brand, The Childcare Chic. Dani Christine is an educational consultant, owner of two childcare centers, and owner of childcaresites.com
